New Fiesta

Featured Replies

Hi,

I posted recently about my mk7 Fiesta 1.6 zetec s petrol leaking water.

I’ve owned the car for 8 years but unfortunately it got written off last Thursday by a bad driver.

Needing a new car I thought I’d go for another Fiesta as the last one was good, I’ve gone for a 2017 mk7.5 1.5 tdci ST line which I pick up next week.

I thought I’d ask on here, is there anything I need to watch out for on this engine?

Not really, this engine is generally very reliable.

It will be due a cambelt change within the next year or so, but not too expensive on these, rough estimate £500 inc waterpump.

Great, thank you.

Good afternoon,

Picked up my new Fiesta this week.

I’ve noticed the passenger footwell trim panel hanging down this morning.

is this an easy fix?

Does it stay if you just push it back up?

I’ve pushed it back up but it just sits above a small plate, might drop back down if I go over a bump. See how I go.

Probably needs a couple of clips to hold it in place. If you remove it can you see two yellow pegs hanging down. The clips that push onto those yellow pegs and hold the cover in place are shown in this amazon link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/BBASILIYSD-Copilot-Accessories-1310861-1310862/dp/B0C74PYSSW?th=1

Thank you!

I've discovered this morning the fuel cap/cover doesn’t lock, is it supposed to?

Flaps no longer need to lock with EasyFuel fitted.  It's not possible to fit anything other than a forecourt diesel nozzle into the EasyFuel filler, so can't be syphoned.*

(*Unless the thief carries an emergency funnel...or knows the screwdriver trick.)

Fair play, cheers for that.

I’m trying to find something wrong with it, I normally have bad luck when it comes to buying cars hence keeping my old Fiesta for so long.

Here’s the car

I can usually find fault with anything.

That does look very clean from those pictures.

Haha

I noticed yesterday that it’s had a repair on the passenger door underneath the mirror.

You can’t see it very well in a picture.

Don't hit anything with that front grill, they are very fragile. A pigeon will go through it if you hit one at 30mph. There you are, given you something to worry about. 🙂

Does anybody know how to turn off the Mykey volume limit and 80mph speed limit?

If I click on my key in my settings I get this….

Well if you have more than one key, use the other key (Admin) to turn off the 'MyKey'

If you only have the one key then you can't use that to turn off MyKey, and you will have to use FORScan.

One of your keys should be the admin key. Use that to clear the my key. You need to read the section  in the manual on my keys - download one here:

https://www.ford.co.uk/support/vehicle/fiesta-2012/2017/owner-manuals

CLEARING ALL MYKEYS

  1. Switch the ignition on using an admin key.
  1. Access the main menu using the information display. Select MyKey and press OK.
  1. Scroll to Clear All and press OK.
  1. Press and hold OK until you see a message informing you that all MyKeys have been cleared.
Note:   When you clear your MyKeys, you remove all restrictions and return all MyKeys to their original admin key status.

🤣 that's what I had just said 🤣

According to the cars own menu there are only two keys in existence, one admin, and one mykey. The question is, Does the OP have both keys ?

I suspect that they only have the one, which is the mykey. It can be cleared using FORScan and the vLinker FS cable.

I’ve only got the one key. I’ll get in touch with the place I bought it from tomorrow.

If they can't provide the missing key then you need to use FORScan to clear the MyKey settings. Also you need another key, regardless.

The dealer refused to pay for the new key to unlock the restrictions. Decided to return the car.

For the sake of a key, you would expect a dealer just to sort it out. 🙁

What I thought, I couldn’t bring myself to fork out £300 in the first week, so back to trying to find a car.

Hi everyone,

I’ve got another Fiesta

a 64 plate 2015 1.5 tdci style on 88k with a new cambelt and water pump.

is there anyway of getting the average mpg readout. I know it’s pretty basic so i don’t think it does after trying to find it but thought someone on here would know for sure

Congratulations on your new car 🎉🎉

Now first things first, you need to update your profile which still says mk7 Fiesta 2010 🤔
