Protar 1/9th Scale Raleigh Panasonic Racing Bicycle model.

Featured Replies

Had this kit for a good few years, really just taking a deep breath and going for it, this Scale model has taken well over a year to make, an hour every day, finally got it completed, it's not a normal type of kit where they are all plastic, this kit is a mis of metal parts & plastic parts & rubber parts and a mass of wire, not the easiest to build and such kits end up being a failure and so get binned.

The model isn't built straight out the box, I've filled in all the frame holes and remade correct cable guides & hangers, altered the front fork crown to a sloping crown, like you's see on a 80's bike and not something from the 60's/70's - Also reshaping the handlebar stem - Greatly thinned down all the tiny components to look like real components.

Painting the sidewalls on the tyres was a nightmare to do neatly, the tyres are all black, so an equal band of brown had to be painted on :taz:

Thanks Paul. Sometimes I've 'lost it' with the odd kit here & there, usually with the parts that don't fit no matter how much test fitting is done, then I'll just slap it together and paint it all satin black and mount the model on the shed, always aeroplane kits that give me grief :hammer:

Did I ever post this on the group, you ever see it ? Can't remember myself now but it was an epic model, 1/12th Lancia Delta Rally Car, the detail is amazing.
