Fiesta 2016, 1.25L 85bhp duratec version, petrol, no turbo

Featured Replies

Hello,

so three months ago I got my Fiesta with 60 285 miles. I have question please. How many bhp could i get from this small engine with engines? I am guessing not a lot but at least approximately how much?

plans to do: Exhaust, Brakes, Engine remap, Suspension, Better Tyres, Good quality sport intake, Lighter wheels

Are there more things I can do to this engine with upgrades and keep this engine reliable or it should be all?

Thanks for answers!

Hi Cedric,

You guess correctly. For sensible money a remap etc would get you 8-10 bhp. If you want to throw shedloads of time and money at it, one member on here has achieved over 100bhp from that engine purely as a project, regardless.

The 1.25 is a good little car but it is what it is and the usual advice is to put the cash towards your next car. Even the lowest power 1.0 ecoboost gives 100 bhp and a lot more torque with no mods or potential insurance complications.

Thanks for answer mate.

This one cost me 7.500$ in Europe what I have now and I can say it is literally perfect and reliable car for learning as new driver! I have fun with it in turns and overally I think it is good car. But I could imagine a bit more bhp power, problem is that I hate three cylinder engines and what I hear from other people, EcoBoosts are not much reliable. I guess, I am gonna modify the car from the exterior + save more money through the time, (Spoiler, Rear & Front lights, Front and maybe rear bumpers, diffusor too and other things.) Just so I can be happy with my work and theoretically then I would sell this and buy an newer Fiesta MK 8-8.5? ST with lower mileage probably. I just love these small and light hatchbacks!
