Rough idle with loud ticking noise and restricted power.

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, I normally specialise in minis and have a ford mondeo 2.0 tdci which is used as a towing car and has worked brilliantly for past couple of cars i have picked up, however it now has a big knocking noise at idle which at first i thought it was a injector knock but it now has no power under acceleration, i put a code reader that i had for an car and the fault codes where all related to dpf, (p246c x2 and p2463 x2) im abit confused as theres no codes relating to injectors,

can a blocked dpf cause a ticking noise at idle and can it be regenerated. Im not too clued up on diesals or fords so im wondering if any one could help or have any ideas. Ive also taken it on long runs collecting cars so i would of thought this would also clear the dpf.

Thanks, Ryan
