Electrical Problems

Featured Replies

When driving yesterday I got a warning message to say that 'Hill Start Assist was not available.' I parked the car switched off, when I returned not only was the Hill Start Assist message still in evidence but both the ABS and Traction Control lights were illuminated and the Stop/Start function turned off.
I'm not particularly mechanically/electrically minded and am getting on in years, my days of working on my car are long gone. Has anyone any clues I could pursue to try and solve this problem? Any advice would be much appreciated.

My suggestion would be to use Forscan w - hy isn't the @unofix details not sticky somewhere (I can never find it easily)?
You'd need either the Bluetooth/phone combination to READ Ford specific codes OR a laptop and lead to have access to coding as well.

Based on the details you give, I suspect a wheel sensor but that's an almost random guess without a code to back it up (or someone else who actually knows what they are talking about!)
If you can start to narrow it down, alt least you won't be fully bamboozled when discussing with your chosen repairer

It's what many Ford owners use including some Ford technicians.

Your car battery 'State Of Charge' (SOC) is below the critical level for those functions to operate.

Check and either recharge the battery for a MINIMUM of 12 hours, or replace it with a new battery (still needs charged before fitting).

Remember to reset the BMS only if you fit a new battery. Your 2014 Focus might not have BMS.
