I’m currently looking for a new car,(used) I have always had Ford cars, but I’m a bit put off buying a Ford with all the problems I have read about the wet belt,  should I be put off I was thinking of test driving a puma my other choice is a Kia sportage, Any advice would be helpful

Puma doesn't have the wet cambelt. It does however still use a small wet belt for the oil pump drive which, so far, seems to have been less troublesome.

No such worries with a Puma gen-e if an EV would work for you, and nearly new/pre-reg cars are already appearing, over 60 on Auto Trader at the moment. New ones are now cheaper than the basic petrol when the Government grant is taken into account.

Can't really comment on Sportages, though from what I've seen, recent (2021-on) Sportages have a decent reliability record. Hard to keep track though, they seem to give it a facelift every other week! The 7 year manufacturers warranty is a good point.

As a driver of a kia ( 2024 stonic gt line ) 🤦‍♂️ l can say there not as bad as the past products used to be. I will say if there basically the same ie like this 1 being the gt line the eco / normal / sport modes don't seem to react any differently in the sense you actually notice it massively. I'd say on trim level save money for a standard n just get added what you want cheaper. There definitely not too bad on fuel but l hate all the new tech they can literally drive them self without Ai which is bad enough..
