I see at long last there is a new map update out for Sync 3.

Do you think there will ever be a Sync 3 update again or have Ford forgotten about it as they now have a new toy Sync 4?

    Considering the fact that the periodic system updates for SYNC 3 have stopped after May 2023 it is safe to assume that Ford stopped the support for SYNC 3.

    From now on Ford will probably only release annual map updates for another few Years until the SYNC 3 system will become completely unsupported.


    I suspect that SYNC 4 is not any better. The latest SYNC 4 system update was released in Januari 2024, which is quite a while ago. Now Ford is moving away from SYNC 4 in favor of the newly developed Android based system it is highly unlikely that the SYNC 4 system is any priority to Ford.

    Looks like I have given out duff gen. Downloaded it and it comes out 2 files total 49KB. I think we had something like this a couple of years back.

    Yes, I am seeing the same. A small download with only 2 files. This tends to happen for a while before the next map update is loaded to the server. Try again in a few weeks.

    Edit to add:

    Cyanlabs have the F14 EU maps available for download but apparently someone at Ford forgot to update the version number, they still identify as F13 even though the files are updated. 🙄

    Out of interest I thought I would email UKCRC1 explaining I tried to download the update to my computer before transferring it to a usb stick and loading it onto the car.

    The reply. I must be one of hundreds if not thousand that have seen this before.

    I must go and see my dealer tomorror as I bet he doesn't know that he is now a computer expert who will delve int the inner workings of my computer and change a two file map update into a multi file 25Gb download map update
