CyanLabs - F14 Maps for Sync3

Featured Replies

CyanLabs Sync3 Map Update F14 is available.

Note in ‘Map Release Notes’:

F14 MAPS DISPLAY AS F13 IN ABOUT SYNC!

And like always on the ford website they haven't uploaded it properly, so the download gives a very small file that doesn't contain the map data 🤦‍♂️

There is a patch on Fmods that corrects the F14 maps to be incorrectly shown as F13. After running the patch the F14 maps show as F14.

This however requires the SYNC 3 jailbreak to be installed.

It is now confirmed that the latest map in is fact an updated F13 version and not F14.

The 48,3 KB map update file from the Ford website is just the interrogator file. Usually the full map update will become available shortly (can be Days or sometimes Weeks) after running the interrogator file.

I abandoned the official Ford update method Years ago. On pre MY20 APIM's the Cyanlabs Syn3Updater is so much faster and much more reliable. Another major advantage of Cyanlabs is that it allows to load only the language and map region files you want to use. Instead of all language and map region files you can just select the ones you want.

In my case I only use the: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Slovakia, Poland and Liechtenstein map file and the Dutch, English (British), French, German language file. This reduces the update size to just below 8 GB which installs in under 15 minutes.

In case I need an additional region I just install that particular file next to the already existing map region files.

How can it displayed as F14?

See the file attached.

Note that since this forum does not allow to upload rar files I renamed it to PDF.

To use it you have to do the following:

1. Download the file.
2. Rename the file extension from .PDF to .RAR.
3. Unpack the file.
4. Copy the "SyncMyRide" folder, the ".DS_Store" and "autoinstall.lst" to the root of an USB drive.
5. Install the mod like any other Fmods mod (this requires the SYNC 3 system to have the jailbreak installed).

Downloading something from cyanlabs is required?

Or this rar should be sufficient?

Auto installation doesn't work. It only shows USB detected, although all steps were followed.

Should have read this first! Saw that the Ford web was advising new maps f14.

went to download and as mentioned  here there is a small kb file that does nothing.

ford upto the usual tricks?

Followed every step and installation failed.

It shows error code: SIGN_ERR01

That would translate as a 'No'

So it is not something cyanlabs sync 3.4 cersion would include?

No, you will have to do that yourself.

Just watch the video and follow the instructions.

Thank you, but don't have everything it takes to do that.

Thank you anyway.

The most recent jailbreak can easily be installed using a USB drive.

Just follow this guide (you may need to be logged in):

[GUIDE] How to Jailbreak your APIM - FMods

Especially the 1st part may take a few tries to determine the correct moment between inserting the USB drive and rebooting the system. Once that is done the rest is easy.

Just waiting for Ford to pull finger out!!

So only with the latest cyanlabs maps installed shall it be alright? (no f14 showed).

what might be ?

its clearly written above - if you want F14 maps you need to modify the car over and above the mods stated within cyanlabs pages on sync 3

FYI, same issue few weeks ago but I'm now presented a 24GB file.

Anyone knows whats the sync system's storage (GB?)?

Mine is 64GB with 10GB free. I read that from the interpretation of the xml report by the Cyanlabs program. Sync 3 "with navigation" (what this thread is about).

The European APIM has 64 GB of storage capacity for the Satnav version and 32 GB of storage capacity for the non-Satnav version.

The USA APIM has less storage capacity.
