Engine malfunction when hitting about 3000rpm

Hi newbie here to the group and to ford tbh. I recently acquired a 2009 1.8tdci ford focus S. A engine malfunction happened when trying to overtake another car when I scanned for a code I got...

Anyone got any ideas where to start to try diagnose this? Any help appreciated.

Perhaps start by taking a look at "boost control position sensor A" ? 🤔

😂 silly me a never thought of that.... maybe I should have been more clearer with my post I meant where would I find this?

The man who can most probably direct you to where exactly it is, is @TomsFocus. He will be back on the forum tomorrow morning 👍

1.8 TDCI uses an electronic boost controller.  Small plastic box attached directly to the turbo.  I suspect the control position sensor is integrated inside this box.  Although that is not the usual code for when these fail, so you may find it is the wiring between this part and the PCM instead.

It's about half way down the back of the engine so not the easiest thing to access.  You can just about see it in situ on this picture, just above gearbox height.

Car went into limp mode again and wouldn't come out it so managed to find the actuator looks like a broken wire right at the plug its 5th wire, looks like an earth wire. Assuming that's the issue managed to jam them together see if it helped and car started and revved fine. Now to try and fix it looking like a new plug. Cheers for your help wouldn't have  a clue where to start.
