Clutch pedal issue

Featured Replies

Evening

I recently had a new cutch fitted on my Ford Focus LX 1.4 2007. Expensive but it is what it is.

My issue is that when I put my foot flat to the floor I can't get any gears if your foot/pedal is slightly raised then its fine?

First noticed at the traffic lights as when I pushed the clutch pedal down flat the car seemed to want to move off. Took it back to the garage and he said something about the clutch pedal stopper being broken and that's why he moved the car mat up to stop this happening! Does this sound legit and if so any suggestions on how to rectify this as the mechanic said the part can only be purchased from Ford and its expansive?

Was thinking maybe a jubilee clip as he said only needs raising about 10mm?

Any help is appreciated

Thank you

🤣🤣😂😂🤣😂

Oh the Bull S#!t, I can smell it from here 😂

The real answer is move your drivers seat back a couple of notches so you can't reach to push the clutch pedal all the way down 👍

That was a joke. There is clearly something wrong with the fitment of the new clutch that needs investigating. Since the clutch is hydraulic there is no adjustment that can be made.

Perhaps @TomsFocus might have an idea ?

I agree the mat fix doesn't seem legit...

Unfortunately I'm not sure what's going on here though.  I'm not aware of a pedal stop on these and couldn't find one on parts diagrams either.

Just sounds like the wrong slave has been fitted to me and it's pushing the spring too far on the clutch.

I am happy to be proved wrong if anyone can provide a link or picture to a pedal stop for these though.
