Mk1 Nissan Qashqai electric window fault

Featured Replies

Someone at work asked me this question. I haven't yet seen the car.

The driver's door window regulator has failed. They can hear the motor turning when the switch is pressed, but the window does not move. It is stuck in the closed position.

In order to remove the failed regulator, the window has to be lowered. This is so that the bolts that attach the glass to the regulator line up with access holes in the sheet metal.

If the mechanism is failed, how do you lower the window to access these bolts? None of the videos I have found so far show this step.

This is apparently a common problem as there aren't many used driver's door regulators on ebay compared to passenger side.

Has anyone on here dealt with this?
