Recall 21E10 PCM

Featured Replies

Hi all

Following rough idling issues on my Ford Kuga 2.0 TDCI for almost a year, it has been established that my vehicle's PCM was wrongly updated under recall '21E10 lean nox trap ageing'. This was solely a result of my own searches of this recall and comments suggesting this for ecoblue engines only. Ford are currently investigating this but have initially agreed and confirmed it was not designed for the Duratorq engine.

I am now well versed on the intention of the 21E10 recall, but would be grateful for any further information anybody may have that may help me ascertain exactly what vehicles/engines this was intented for.

Additionally, the Ford dealer that originally carried out the update has given me the attached Detailed Vehicle Specification for my car. Some details about my vehicle must be wrong on Ford's systems for this to happen. I am drawn to the following:

• TRS CD - C/VT

- Research is pointing me towards this suggesting that the transmission is a 'continuously variable transmission'. My car is a 6 speed manual.

•ENG CD - C/RT7

 - Research is pointing towards this suggesting that the engine could be related to a Transit Custom.

In addition, the the attached PCM data readings of my vehicle also seems to point towards calibration levels relevant to a transit.

Any help, details or suggestions that anyone could please provide me with, no matter how small, would be brilliant.

Thank you

Adam

Hi Unofix

I posted it in here as most comments on the recall have been seen in focus and fiesta forums with suggestions of the update being relevant to variations of ecoblue engines rather than specific ranges of vehicle. Combined with a possible connection to the transit, I felt that posting it in a more general forum might reach a wider range of Ford users with possible knowledge of the points mentioned. I will post it there now 👍

Thanks
