DPF software update increased fuel consumption

Featured Replies

Recently had my 2.0l Ecoblue Focus recalled for the update the Powertrain Control Module software, and since the update II have noticed a marked increase in fuel consumption. Anyone else noticed this?

Is this an actual increase in fuel consumption where you have calculated a reduced mpg by recording how many miles you get between each tank fill? Or are you seeing a reduced mpg displayed in the car (which is just a calculated guess)? The calculated guess version displayed in the car does change between software versions sometimes.

Tbh they're probably making it do more frequent regens to reduce the length of time that the DPF core is hot in one go.  So I would expect slightly higher consumption.  The same happened when VW TDIs got the emissions fix around 10 years ago.
