Not the UK FOC anymore ?

Featured Replies

Since the new banner/header of the FOC, I notice there seems to be no mention of it being the "UK" forum.

While I'm sure we all welcome overseas visitors to the site and will where ever possible try and answer their questions, it is often confusing for them when they assume that their vehicle will be known to members of the UK FOC.

Was the omission of the UK just and oversight or something else ?

I'd ask who actually OWNS The Club?
For example, CaravanTalk uses the identical software (Invision Community) but is actually owned by Verticalscope Inc, a Canadian company that appears to own multiple online communities?
Not necessarily a bad thing but the owners can presumably do what they want?

Its a good point and already noticed a few non-uk have joined.
Will look at updating it soon to make it clear.

However, it does ask them what county they are in when joining, so they are kinda aware. but will sort soon.

That explains why it says  "proudly run by Lexus owners for over 18 years" on the Welcome page !

Vertical Scope have no love/interest in Vehicle Forums - among other things they own lots of Forum platforms mainly for advertising purposes. They are based in Canada

They will have removed the banner heading that refers to the uk purely to get more "traffic" which is good for them but a pain in the neck for uk forum members if we have to point out even more often that people have posted on a uk forum

Come on VS - get sensible and think of us forum members for a change - put back the heading to how it was or at least make it totally clear to posters that we are a uk forum.

Why have you changed the heading anyway?

Well.......

To cut a long story short, someone had too much time and nothing to do. Then looking in their desk draw they found an old 1970's Dymo label printer and thought, I know what I'll do 🤣

Not the case.. it simply an oversight and there is plenty of mentions of UK around the site, even asks you what county (not country) you are from when registering

Screenshot 2025-10-26 at 08.52.25.png

There was never mention of UK in the first place.

The change was to get up to date with compliance. It was to ensure there was no confusion of passing off as Ford.

In this day and age there are now many legal firms looking for ways to make money and stuff like this is what their AI software looks for.

So to protect the club we need to ensure our site is compliant and the terms are clear

Unfortunately due to copyrights and lawfirms picking up on copyright photos we had to use a AI version.

you will spot the badges missing too.

we will be changing some stuff soon so will fix the stuff that doesnt look right

While you are fixing things is this bit correct at the bottom of the home page?

The only UK registered company called ACI LTD that I can find was dissolved in 2014.
