Sync3 update failure

2018 Mondeo Vignale. Current Sync3 is 3.0.20204. Latest update is shown as 3.0.23219. Downloaded the files onto USB and started the update. After a few minutes it showed system failure sign-err02. Recommendation was to download the files again. After a second download and attempt to update with no success, I contacted Ford and they told me to do a Master Reset. Having carried this out and again attempted the update I get the same result, system failure sign-err02. Any ideas as to how to get this update completed? Thank you.

    JSK. entered my VIN onto the Ford SYNC & Map Update page. It showed my current and update versions.
