Focus MK2 2010 Heater Fan Removal

Featured Replies

Hi. I need to gain access to the heater fan to check if it’s toast, but I can’t seem to reach up over the pedals. Do I need to remove a couple pedals to reach it?

Video searches does not do a good job of explaining this part.

In that case you will have to remove the throttle pedal for access.

I did, and I was able to remove the motor, but it did run with separate power. Which has to mean it’s either the resistor that has been deep fried or something has happened inside the control panel which I doubt.

Ford did a great job hiding the resistor tho which means it’s damn near impossible to get out. Any advice on this? 😳

The resistor for basic temp control is on the side of the large air intake pipe to keep it cool.  Should be easy enough to see.

If you have electronic climate control then that doesn't use a resistor, which may explain why you can't see one.  Those use an electronic module instead.  Electronic climate was so rare in the UK that I'm not sure exactly where that module is mounted.
