2009 Focus CC Window issues

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. I’m new to the FOC and just recently purchased a 2009 Focus CC. It’s a great car but just needs a few minor tweaks to get it back on top point. One issue I’ve got is the drivers rear window seems “stuck”. Worked perfectly fine initially but then it got stuck halfway. I could hear the motor whirring as I was pressing the button but it just wouldn’t budge. Occasionally it’d budge an inch up or down but that was all. It allows me to pull it back closed with my hands but then still doesn’t operate properly.

Would anyone in the know have any idea what the issue is? I was thinking the window regulator as in the old receipts it does say the other rear windows regulator had been replaced. But wanted to check in case it might be an easier less costly fix first.

TIA

It'll be the reg, yes.

You may struggle to get one

Ah. Cheers for the reply. I thought as much. Sounds like a Ford main dealer and pay an arm and a leg then 😔

The window regulator for the Focus CC have been discontinued for 10 years or more. There is no old stcok available from Ford.

Your best hope would be a used one from a scrap yard, but even then you have almost no hope.

Many of the CC specific parts were discontinued Years ago. Even the roof seals/rubbers are no longer available. In case of a leaking roof (and trust me, the roof of these will start leaking sooner or later) the repair options are extremely limited.

The same applies to the CC specific bodywork. I have seen CC's being written off because simple parts like the rear bumper and tailgate no longer being available.

Also be aware that most Ford dealerships and many convertible roof specialists do not even want to touch the roof and window regulators of the Focus CC.

As already said the rear window regulators of the CC are virtually impossible to find. Even used ones are extremely rare and sell for an arm and a leg.

Repairing/rebuilding the existing rear window regulator will be your best option. Repair kits can be found on for example Ebay.
