2008 Ford Focus Mk2.5 Engine Malfunction

I have noticed that my left main beam bulb has blown, and it was covered in black dust and it was melt. The day after this happened, the car showed engine malfunction on the lcd display. After that when the headlights were turned off, the engine shut off with it. I have changed the blub and it was fine for a short time and the engine malfunction message appeared again, and the engine stopped. I was looking for the fix online but i havent found anything special about this problem. What could cause this issue and what would be the fix for it?
