FIESTA AUX NOT WORKING

Featured Replies

Hi all

The radio in in my 2009 fiesta was faulty, so i replaced the head unit. All is good now the radio works fine. However since replacing the head unit i have noticed my bluetooth no longer works for my phone calls, and the aux cable doesn’t  play anything despite showing “line active”

I have made sure its wasn’t the cable, so i know something is wrong with the car. is it to do with the new head unit i put in? (it was OEM)

It could be the head unit, is it the same model number? As some stereos look the same but are diffrent in model number ( ie the old ford stereo 1 would allow for a cd player and steering column controller and another wouldn't this was seeable via the back connector. It's also possible if they are the exact same that something is wrong internally but still allows power to pass making it seem like it's still good but intact isn't due to a wire not being attached.

Also it's possible for there just to be muck blocking the electric passing through at the certain points that allow it to work properly. If your able to remove it and look at ait give it a go I might save you more money replacing again, plus I'd put a complaint in to who ever you bought it from if they said it all work fine as it obviously doesn't.

Thanks for your reply? i’ve taken the unit out again and made sure nothings blocking it and that everything’s connected accordingly. There doesn’t seem to be any issues. but the 2 features are still not working

Was you able to check it internally, if a previous owner has had things connected and knocked them it could have loosened something inside that has affected both of them if they run through the same connection. ( like vw door wiring if you disconnect the window plug the doors hold like magnets because it disconnects all the electric and the door handle from working ) so due the advancement of stereos from the older version it's possible maybe the auxiliary connection had the jack in and been knocked and has hit or maybe even touching the bluetooth part causing neither to work. ( this why l like the older stereos because they can be swapped with virtually any other where as yours is a specic dash part shaped. Hopefully you get it sorted or if you get another if possible see it working first so you don't loose out again 😎👍
