Ford Focus 2022 Ecoboost

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anybody can give me any insight. Bought a Ford Focus 2022 ecoboost yesterday. The battery was also replaced yesterday afternoon as when I initially went to view it the car wouldn't start and was advised it just needed a new battery.

Took the car for a test drive which was all OK however when I got on the motorway the Powertrain malfunction/reduced power, hill start assist and forward collision warnings appeared.

I have emailed the ford dealership this morning and they have advised that it will be because its had a new battery and will just need resetting.

Please can I have some thoughts and whether this has happened to anybody else 🙏🏽

Does the battery look new?  They might have just charged it instead of replacing it.

Battery problems are very common on the Mk4 Focus, but shouldn't be getting them with a brand new battery.  I'd also hope any Ford garage fitting a new battery would know to complete the BMS reset afterwards.  If they can't even manage that then I'd be concerned about anything else they've missed during pre-sale prep.

Hi Tom. I haven't actually looked yet. I did take a picture of the old battery (when originally viewing the car) so will easily be able to tell if they did indeed replace it. I also have an email sent from the Ford dealer (TrustFord) yesterday telling me that the battery would be with them for 1pm, they would get it fitted and sent for valet. I then collected the car at 5:30.
