Who did the MOT?  They've given it a fail on lambda readings - but lambda isn't even tested on diesels!  

Agree, unless it failed a smoke test, implying DPF  cracked or faulty?
What is the running history since the change, is there any warranty on it?

It failed on lambda readings, something's wrong here.

If the garage that did your moot was the place that fitted it then I'd be asking them for a refund if you have proof of them doing it, then either way I'd look for another mot place as it sounds like there trying to get work out of you that don't need doing.

No changes in use of car.   Different garages did original dpf.  Does anyone else know if lambda sensor is checked on diesels mot.

Unofix. So it can fail on the reading for the lambda sensor.

NOT if it is a diesel engine.

They only get tested for smoke opacity.

The reason l mentioned going else where for mot is l go out of my town for this exact reason. A place l thought l could trust does this, my brother went there before l did hence me going to them. But when they told me a rear bearing and emissions needed doing then failed it even when it was done then about 10 things showed up as a failure on mot. I was glad l waited about 2 week for this other place as it passed no problem ( nothing else was done during the waiting time ).

Psychic abilities.  

Did the garage give you a print-out of the emissions test?  It is possible that it failed the diesel smoke test and they just ticked the wrong box on the failure sheet by mistake.  If they didn't give you a print-out then we'll never know.

Had it mot done somewhere else this dinner time, passed.  Just shows you can't trust them.
