Hi all wondering if anyone has come across this problem, I will add the final solution once solved.

When I opened my car with the key fob one morning my indicators started flashing and windscreen wipers activated, once the key is in the ignition and turned to ‘run’ everything would go back to normal, take the key back out and the issues resume.

i rang around and didn’t have much luck this side of Christmas but had some advice that the bcm may be faulty.

took it apart checked all connections with no sign of corrosion or water.

advised by one mechanic to purchase a second hand bcm and have it programmed to my car.

the company that programs them said that the type of bcm I have won’t need programming and that it will just be the key that needs to be resynced via the ignition protocol.

I still wanted to try get it in to have it plugged in but was let down today and I just went for it and changed the bcm,

on changing the bcm all issues were completely solved and I thought I had fixed it, I checked on the car a couple of times in the next few hours until I went back and all the issues had started again.

Any advice would be appreciated, il carry on trying to contact mechanics and will post any updates.

I'd suspect corrosion of the wires and/or connector pins of the BCM plugs.

Remove the BCM plug and then remove the back shell of the plug and check inside for signs of water or corrosion of the wires and pins.

Give the plug a good spray with WD40 before refitting the back shell of the plug.

It's probably the cluster then

Thank you for the advice,

I’ve been looking at it again this morning, when I’ve reconnected the battery after having it disconnected all night all the issues have gone away again, I’ve disconnected the battery again and stripped the connectors and cleaned them then reinstalled and still no issues with the car but I have a feeling they will return within a few hours.
