Leak around injectors and turbo oil leaking

Featured Replies

Car is Ford Focus MK2 1.6 TDCi 2005 Model. I replaced the valve gasket cover 3-4 months ago, but the leakage between the injectors (around injector 1-2) hasn't stopped, as seen in the pictures. Oil leaks around turbo also. Is it big problem or should i drive like this?

That turbo is knackered.  Oil around the edge like that means boost air must be coming out as well.  And there shouldn't be oil in that outer section anyway, so the oil seal is probably blown.

Yeah, you maybe right. So i connected to a pc and ran Forscan, i did see some DTC's like P0299-21 boost pressure of turbocharger too low (something like that). Maybe turbo solenoid needs changing as well?.

Thr boost pressure is low because it's blowing out the side of the turbo instead of reaching the engine.

So what do you suggest i do? Is it a big problem?

Drive it until it blows then scrap it.  Turbo replacement is a huge job on these as they suffer from carbon build up in the oil ways.  Oil feed pipe also needs to be replaced, sump needs to be removed and cleaned out, oilways flushed through.  Will end up costing more than the cars worth.

So the problem is not from seals itself. On the other hand yeah you're right,  its a huge job and will end up costing more than the cars worth. So i will drive it like this until blows
