Light grey pipe going in a rubber elbow above thermostat

Hi i need to know what the small light grey pipe is that goes into a rubber elbow above the thermostat rh side looking from front fied by two torn screws. On a Mk3 1.6 tdci focus As mine has broken. I have managed to push it further into the rubber elbow bit want to replace it?

Unfortunately not a positive answer I'm afraid.

No worries thanks Chris at least I've got a name for it now. I have managed to clear some of the broken part out of the elbow and pushed the remaining end into the elbow hopefully that holds. The "shoulder"should help that I hope. 

I did similar then wrapped it in duct tape, it seems to be holding fine at the minute

Just a quick update I've cleared all of the broken end and pushed the remaining pipe into the rubber elbow and put a small cable tie around the end to hold the "shoulder" in.
