What type is my battery so I can charge it

Featured Replies

I have a 23 plate fiesta that is telling me the features have been turned off in the ford pass app as the battery is low, I drive it once a week for short trips. From the photo can you tell me what type of battery it is please, so I can charge it on a new year's day

thats a standard lead acid battery, so a decent 5amp+ charger will do.

What kills these is letting them drop low too often. Id be surprised if its in good health. the cold weather will make it worse.

Consider a battery maintainer (trickle charger) for when you arent using the vehicle.

Cheers

Charge it, get it tested proper like, assume it's out of warranty but need to check?

....and now a quick word from our sponsor

@StephenFord recommends the Maypole charger bought from eBay !! 🤣

Actually we all more or less recommend them, form eBay or Amazon 😉

Interesting that we were only recently having a debate on EFB and SLI on another thread and comparing the merits and cost of replacing SLI with EFB.

it says sli on his battery,  he is only wanting to charge it at this point not change it.  but given its doing short journeys infrequently an efb would be worse for him.

Yes, the original point being answered I was just drawing attention to the other thread, where it seems Ford have fitted EFB batteries to some MHEV cars (Puma) yet SLI on others (Fiesta, Focus) even though technically they're not needed on MHEVs.

Any thoughts on that?

I tend to stay away from hybrids, more than enough going on with wet belts, clutches and suspension stuff.

If my back doesnt give out first il have no doubt the need to adapt to the newer stuff.

Ive always gone for the replace like for like approach. so far has seen me well over the last 35 years of working on tin cans. 😂
