Hi, new here. I have a Focus 2000 1.6 ghia and sadly have written it off. It was great for it's year. about 79, 000 Mileage. I was the 3rd owner. Previous owner a grandad and kept it garaged. Copart are offering £1,230 as a payout and inoaodn£2,000 for it. I've only found two other examples but as 2001. I need to prove they aren't offering me enough. It was a good example. So clean and well looked after. Any kind advice welcome.

That's about what I'd expect for a 25 year old car. On a good day they might stretch to £1500 but that would be it.

Think yourself lucky we were offered £50 by Arnold Clark as trade in value for our 2011 car (still running like new)! 😉

(They obviously didn't want it of course)

P.S. Happy New Year to all our readers!

Not for it to sound funny but a mk1 even on the road as a 1.6 would be supring if it sold for 1k as a write off I'm inclined to agree with Shearers your lucky to be offered even £50 both must have been hit on the heads, I'd take the highest offer asap or the only other way you'll get more than that would be to diy strip it down bit by bit n sell it off separately on ebay n such as parts.

Happy new year to you too 😎👍

A 25 year old Focus write off.  1250 pounds. Dance away laughing. That is the best deal you will get in this lifetime.

There are the odd higher prices on sites like Auto Trader, but they are dealer asking prices**, not what they would offer to buy.

** One comedian was asking £3450 (albeit for a very low mileage car) last time I looked - but the general range was £500-1000 for a runner with MoT.
