Mk3 1.6 tdci transient loss of power around 2000 rpm

Featured Replies

Hi folks.

I have 2012 mk3 focus 1.6 tdci manuel. Around 2000 rpm, sometime i see sudden loss of power like im not pressing the gas pedal anymore and lasts around a second and it comes back. It happens on cruise control as well so not related to gas pedal. below or above rmps are fine car had good performance. If I floor the pedal, I do not see these "hiccups". Asked ChatGPT for possible causes and EGR, turbo and air intake manifold is the primary suspect. I deleted EGR via software but no plate is placed. To me it feels like ECU tries to activate something around 2000rpm but somehow it gets delayed. But again this is happening if i drive the car at 2000 rpm. Abive and below rpms are fine. Any idea? Thanks.
