Help with forscan

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Is anyone on here any good with forscan?

I want to reconfigure my car so it knows it has non xenon lights fitted,

That's the cable I've got, it connects to forscan fine, I've got a license for forscan.

I can see and reset dtc's, I can see the config list for the bmi but it has no info about headlights in it.

I can't see the hcm module on the configuration list?

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Chris.

Have you switched to MS CAN?  If not, you're only getting half the module list come up.

Yes I've used both hs/ms but the hcm module comes up under hs when looking on the module list but isn't there on the config page

That's odd.  I'm not sure what's happening there then.  Hopefully someone else will know.

MK3 Focus does not like the switchable OBD lead or visa versa

Get a V-Linker or OBD EX

It's what many Ford owners use including some Ford technicians.

So I've had a bit more time to play with this, the issue was to do with something called the secondary boot loader within forscan I used the following link to resolve it,

https://www.focusst.org/threads/how-to-download-sbl-second-bootloader-for-forscan-2022.170004/

With that done I could access the bcmii central configuration (main) and edit the headlight type fitted using my original adapter.

This has done away with the headlight warning when turning the ignition on, there's a couple of background fault codes in forscan relating to the old xenon lights but as they don't trigger a warning on the dash I'm happy at that.

Thanks

Chris.
