Very Low Volume In Calls

Featured Replies

Hello everyone!

I've been searching the internet and cannot understand what is happening with my Focus MK4 SW 2019.

1. What is working and what its not:

  • Whenever I make or receive a call, the volume is really low. Even if I crank it to the max (audio level 30) it is still very low;
  • I recently discovered that the voice feedback volume is also very low;
  • Once or twice I heard a crackling sound coming from the speakers;
  • I also did the Ford audio diagnostics [Volume pressed + Skip Right] and I didn't notice any problems;
  • BUT I can hear music and radio properly, it's just when I get calls or the car gives me voice feedback.

2. What I did:

  • Checked the fuse 11 on the passenger's glove box and it is visually intact and working (checked with the multimeter). Taking it out and putting it back in didn't resolve the issue;
  • Performed a Master Reset in SYNC 3 (version 3.4.23188) and connect my phone again. Still, the issue persists;
  • Connected to my car with Forscan which threw 3 DTC that I never saw before:
    • ACM: B1A01:13-0B - Speaker #1 - Circuit Open
    • ACM: B1A02:13-0B - Speaker #2 - Circuit Open
    • IPMA: U0253:00.28 - Lost Communication With Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM)
  • I have also rebooted the ACM module via Forscan

I have also disconnect all USB cables prior to the tests.

What should I do next?

I've been scratching my head for days...

Thank you in advance.
