2009 1.6 Petrol Sigma: Fuel Filter Location?

Working on a friend's Focus, I got all the filters lined up for air, oil, cabin and fuel.

The fuel filter supplied is a drop-in folded paper element type. I had been expecting an in-line canister with push-fit entry and exit.

Chedking under the car, there is no filter to be seen on the fuel lines. The feed and return from the top of the tank drop down in front of it  where there are push-fit breaks.spacer.png

My question is where is the fuel filter? Is it part of the fuel pump assembky, requiring the tank be dropped to access?

I have followed the lines up to the fuel pressure regulator, no filter to be seen anywhere, I'm stumped.

    i am almost certain the fuel filter is inside the fuel tank as mine was too. i was told they dont get replaced.

    hopefully someone will come along to advise.

    What's the brand and part number on that filter?  Sounds like it's a diesel one.

    As above, there isn't a replaceable fuel filter on the petrols.
