2020 Focus 1.5 Ecoboost Spark Plugs

Featured Replies

Hello, newbie here

I’ve got a 2020 1.5 Ecoboost Focus ST Line- X

Ive noticed I’ve been getting a bit of Breaking from the engine on full throttle (misfire)

I replaced the spark plugs with Bosch ones ( eurocarparts) - and noticed I still have the issue.

My next aim was coil packs but I’ve seen possibly the eco boosts are temperamental to plugs and suggests I need the Motorcraft ones

any help appreciated

Try better fuel (E5 super)

If it is a misfire you need to establish whether it is one Cylinder or all of them that are misfiring, or if not then it is something else that is wrong.

If you get set up with FORScan you can get individual misfire data from Mode 6 Tests, much cheaper than replacing parts that are not faulty.

With things like Plugs for the difference in price every 4 years you are better sticking with the OE Ford ones unless you know the exact ones that are Ford branded for that Engine.
