"I have a 2023 Ford Focus ST-Line on a 39-month lease. Between February and April 2024, it went to the Ford dealer four times for 'State of Low Battery' issues. The battery was finally replaced in April, but the problem returned only six weeks later.

The stop-start system stopped working first, followed by the interior lights. Even after a three-hour drive, the 'Low Battery' message returned just three days later. In December, I tried driving it on the motorway for 40 minutes every few nights, but the message still reappeared within 24 hours.

Interestingly, the car sat on my driveway for three weeks while I was away and started perfectly when I returned. I recently took it to a different dealer, but they told me nothing is wrong because the battery tested as fully charged. I am confused because the problem persists despite the new battery. Does anyone have any suggestions?"

    Get yourself set up on FORScan with either the V-Linker or OBDLink-EX lead

    Buy a much better, higher capacity, non Ford battery (From GSF etc)

    Fully charge it before fitting

    Reset the BMS and change the battery SOC in BMS to 95%
