Focus MK4 android auto issues

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I have a 125hp Focus ST-Line X (bought it less than 2 months ago) and I constantly have problems with Android Auto disconnecting randomly. Sometimes it goes like 2 hours without disconnecting, sometimes I can't even set the GPS because it keeps disconnecting on a loop. It happens both with wireless and cable. Before the Focus I had a Citroen C4 with a Chinese cheep head unit with a cheap Chinese wireless adapter and I literally NEVER seen it disconnect in all the years I had it, so I don't think the problem is with my phone, but I already tried to cleanup everything from the phone and it's the same. Does anyone have the same problem or know how to fix this? Thanks!

My '24 Mk4 Active X's Sync 4 kept cutting out on Bluetooth. It is stable when connected via a SHORT good quality USB cable using one of the sockets at the front of the centre console. Strangely it didn't like a longer cable!

Mine did that a lot for years, though it cut out less when I plugged the cable into the USB port in the centre console, underneath the arm rest. Resetting MySync would sometimes work too, you can do this by pressing and holding the power button and skip/next track/ buttons on the stereo for about 5 seconds.

Also trying cleaning out the port on your phone and the car with some air duster spray, i'd get lint from my pockets in there often and it interfere with the charging....

However, the two biggest improvements:

  1. were using the phone cable that came with my phone, moderate success. there were still some cut outs.

  2. buying a new phone, I went from a Samsung S22 to Pixel 10 Pro, and it's pwasn't powerful/modern enough and it works 98% no probs.

But I'm not using a cable at all, although when I tried with a cable it still disconnected randomly.
