Hi guys, first post here! My nephew was having an issue with his 2006 Fiesta (it’s a 1.4 diesel) where it would lose power/cut out over 50mph, as well as flash up some warning lights, not every single time but at least once in a journey. 

I sent the instrument cluster off to a member I found on here (Lyndon) although stupidly didn’t actually see on his listing originally that the cluster in his car isn’t one that’s affected!

Does anybody have any suggestions what else I could look at? Was hoping it’d make a good first car for my son rather than heading off to be scrapped as it’s a good little car except this issue!

it’s already had a new alternator, new starter motor and oil filter after advice from the RAC etc, none of these worked. I was really hoping it might have been the cluster but am now unsure.

When was the diesel fuel filter last changed ?

That I’m not sure of, my brother said when it went into a local garage there was something about the cluster and high voltage but they’re not sure where the paperwork is from when the car was scanned 😩

Hi Unofix, just found out it was changed 28/05/2025, also new alternator before that in May 2025
