Locking wheel nut

Featured Replies

Does Focus eco boost have a security wheel locking nut

If it has alloy wheels then yes.

Cars with steel wheels and plastic trims do not get locking nuts.

Locking wheel nuts are an optional extra. These are not fitted as standard.

That must be location specific. They've been standard in the UK for decades. It's to do with car insurance over here. Most people just complain about them, they certainly wouldn't pay extra for optional ones!

Microcat does not list the locking wheel nuts as a standard feature for the UK market. This suggests that the UK market vehicles leave the factory with standard wheel nuts like all other markets.

Can It be that the locking wheel nuts are dealer fitted before delivery?

It’s interesting how insurance requirements vary between countries.

I’ve had fully comprehensive car insurance with zero excess for over 20 years, and my insurer has never asked me to have wheel locks or an alarm.

That's an interesting thought. It is possible that they're dealer fitted.

I've just checked the spec list from my own Mk4 and they are listed under the VIN check, so I would have thought they were factory fitted.

Depends where you live! I used to live in Luton and kids where nicking my valve covers off my wheels.
