Weird banging sound coming from engine

Featured Replies

I bought a 2006 ford focus mk2 1.6L gasoline HWDA. It came with a ticking sound that was really quiet. Now its quite loud. At idle its loud, when I rev it becomes quieter but it speeds up. 3 mechanics had different ideas. 1) VVT solenoid, 2) piston slap, 3) lifters( english is not my first name, but if you remove the top cover then the lifters you see there)

So i have come here to see what you guys think. I will include a video of the sound.

Thank you

has that got oil in it? sounds like no oil is getting around the engine.

@steve I removed the wires that go to the sparkplugs and every hole had a good amount of oil in them 😂. Dipstick is still barely below max fill line!
