Exhaust sensor query

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Can anyone help me out with what this sensor is on exhaust on 1.5 ecoboost mk4 estate please? Cable has almost detached. Is it easy to change?

Many thanks,

Simon

Looks like a temperature sensor to me.
Check that it isn't just an outer shroud that is damaged and could be reinforced?
This could be done by monitoring the temperature using Forscan to check for correct operation (if it's gone their could be relevant code(s) )
Apart from the risk of it being seized in (a few doses of releasing agent in advance) , it should be straightforward (check the electrical connector comes apart easily and isn't damaged.

Yes, it is a cat temp sensor. As above I don't think its damaged, just the heatproof sheath has slipped down.
