DPF spray foam

Featured Replies

Hi guys, just looking for advice. Ordered dpf foam cleaner. However im not sure which way to spray it in.

Ford focus 2015 TDCi 1.5L

Would be any of these sensors on the left or top of dpf ? or should i remove that rubber hose and put it in that metal pipe on the right side of dpf ?

Hi,

It probably doesn't really matter in all honesty.

Personally I'd rather get in after the cat, to make sure it's as close to the DPF core as possible. So either the pressure pipe (only one of those on this engine) or the temp sensor hole should be fine.

I wouldn't use the lambda hole right on top as that will be above the cat...though as I say, it probably doesn't really matter on a cold engine. If doing it hot then you definitely want it after the cat, otherwise it'll just vaporise from the heat of the cat.

Thank you very much. Do you know if the blue coloured sensor is where cat is, just under lambda sensor ? If it is then leaves no choice but to do it via pressure sensor pipe. Because green cable sensor is to far to the bottom. I want to do it on warm engine since it has severe blockage but no fault codes as of yet.

The blue wire sensor is above the cat. The green one is below the cat but above the DPF core.

This picture shows it better without the heatshields fitted. Basically the top half is the cat, the bottom half is the DPF, and there's an inch or so gap between the two.
