pulling pin?

Featured Replies

hi guys

my car got stuck on some mud and found a panel that comes out at the front by the headlight and inside that was a hole which i assume a pulling pin screws into so another car can help me pull my car out with some straps.

i have had a good look around and i dont think i have one.

does anyone know what part number is please?

many thanks guys :)

Every Focus MK3/MK3.5 should have one as standard.

FORD FOCUS MK3 SPARE WHEEL SPACE SAVER WITH CAR JACK KIT 2011-2015 AY13H – Gala Motors

FORD FOCUS MK3 ZETEC S HATCHBACK BOOT FOAM WITH TYRE COMPRESSOR 2015-2018 ET15A – Gala Motors

It is either part of the spare wheel kit or the emergency tire repair kit. In both cases it is located in the foam insert.

If it is not there someone must have taken it out.

They don't unfortunately, my mk3 estate doesn't have the thread to screw a towing eye into in the chassis or the eye

That seems really strange.

I have seen dozens of MK3s, and all of them had the towing eye and threaded inserts in the bumper bars as standard.

Next to the Kuga, we also have a Focus MK3 ST with a factory-fitted subwoofer and emergency tire repair kit—including the towing eye.

Could it be something else that Ford UK eliminated to cut costs?

many thanks guys for the replies

unfortunately i dont have that foam thingy, all i had with the spare wheel was a round plastic thing with a wire connected to it, when i googled it, people are saying its a subwoofer? i find that extremely strange as i have never heard one being standard on a car.

i will have one more look tomorrow though.

It's an option on the kuga too, I only know as I needed to help someone move a broken down car recently, couldn't find the eye in my focus, asked a neighbour who has a 19 plate kuga and he said his didn't have it and it was an option and then when I took the cover out my rear bumper to work out what length I'd need found there wasn't the chassis mounted bit to screw into.

The subwoofer is standard on Titanium X. These come with the Premium 10 speaker Sony audio system. That's a mid & tweeter in each door, plus a sub in the boot and a central front speaker on the dash top.

I think the spare wheel kit for the estate might be in one of the side pockets. If you've got a spare wheel then it must come with a jack and brace, even if it doesn't come with the tow hook.

thank you tom, you are right, the jack are in the side door in the boot but no eye tower which is a shame.

found some on ebay for around 20 pound but will use the part numbers from previous comment.

Didn't think I had one, there was even a nut wrench in there even though I have one in the side door in the boot. Very strange.
