Hello every now and then my acceleration slows but only briefly and on my dash it says engine malfunction but that goes off after a few minutes also over the last 3 days when i put my key in and try to start the engine it does not start i have to leave the lights etc on for a minute turn it off then start again and it will start does anyone know what the problem is?

We will need diagnostic codes to advise further. could be any number of things.

If you dont know anyone with a decent scan tool, i would advise buying a v linker FS cable, and downloading forscan.

if you dont have a laptop, you can get the bluetooth version with slightly limited functionality.

Hello it is a 2010 zetec diesel i did have a 2019 i must need to update my profile

I know a guy with a dealership im sure i have saw him use some sort of tablet for this so i will try get it to him when i am of work i spoke to my friend he said the engine malfunction loss of acceleration every so often might be the fuel filter
