That's a shame.☹️

The panel is called a front wing rather than a wheel arch. New ones usually come in primer and need to be painted. Used ones often have damage already.

Some sellers on ebay do offer pre-painted panels now but they aren't cheap. Here's one example:

many thanks tom

it happened on monday and i cant stop thinking about it :(

when it happened i felt sick.

i was going to claim on it but the other person does not have a car or money, he used a crane on it while i went home to get some things.

my car got stuck on some grass and he offered to help but he was rushing and i told him not to damage my car at all but he didnt listen, got so mad at him 😡

i got a few quotes from a few garages and they were all over £500 so £150 is cheap in my mind.

Does anyone know if I need to blend the color in? I just read somewhere that you had to do that. I just thought if I buy a new wing with my color painted on then il be fine.

As Tom suggests, I would go with the pre painted wing option.

When I had the MK2 Focus it needed new wings because of rust, the ones I bought were an excellent colour match considering the age of it, they even came with the inside of them under-sealed although I did add some more before installing them.

many thanks eddie

i am getting the pre painted one, i read somewhere that it has to be blended in with the door, i just got confused by what they said.

another comment i read was that the other part of the car colour may have faded due to weather and that the new wing might look odd.

i am hoping my colour hasnt faded that much though.

Whether a pre-painted panel is a good match or not fully depends on the actual color, age of the car and how much it was exposed to the elements.

Ford uses color names. However, some color names have several different paint codes. The paint code can differ between model Years, manufacturing plants, etc. Some color names are known to have different shades or different quantity of metallic/mica flakes. Apart from that for some colors extremely difficult to match. Even the primer/basecoat color abd thickness of the paint layers can hugely affect the final color.

So, when ordering a pre-painted panel it is important to order it based on the actual paint code instead of just the color name. This way you have the highest chance to obtain a close color match.

Years ago, my previous Midnight Sky Focus MK3 did have some burglary damage. Just a few scratches on the rear door caused by broken glass. Midnight Sky (grey with shades of green and purple depending on viewing angle and sunlight) turned out to be quite hard to match. In the end those scratches turned out to be a €2.000,- paint job (paid by the insurance company).

Many thanks jw

Il look for the code either in the boot or manual.

On my skoda, the code was in the boot so hopefully il find it.

The code should be on the driver's door sticker.

Small boxes at the left hand end, one box up from the bottom.
