Steering wheel auto lock ford puma

Featured Replies

Hi all, the other day my steering wheel auto locked when leaving the car somehow now I can’t get it to auto lock is there something I am missing? When I the turn engine off “full guard” is selected any ideas?

The steering wheel locks automatically every time you remove the key fob from the car. It releases again when it senses the keyfob in the car and you press the clutch or start button. If you want to check that it has locked, leave the keyfob outside of the car for a minute or so.

Full Guard refers to the alarm. If you leave a dog in the car while parked then select 'Reduced Guard' to switch off the interior alarm sensors.

If I unlock the car from in my house get in but leave the key not in range are you saying my wheel would be locked without any movement?

Probably.

Try it

Yes. It's an electronic steering lock. You don't need to turn the wheel like the old mechanical locks on key-barrel cars.

You'll have to be quick doing it that way though. The car will relock itself if you don't get out there and open a door within about 30 seconds.
