14 plate 1.6 tdci focus 60,000 miles gear shift indicator only picking up higher gear(5 or 6) started happening last night. No engine light or problems changing gear,not stalling or struggling to drive. Advise/ thoughts please

    Before I can contribute, I need to know if this is still the dual clutch Getrag Powershift wet (Yay!) clutch or dry (Boo!) or a torque converter gearbox?
    If Powershift (or even if not) my perceived immediate action is to change the fluid (and if appropriate, the filter)?
    At 12 years old Powershift should have had at least three changes and likely due another soon, age not mileage).
    To assist any others, what is the service history on this gearbox and vehicle, how long have you had it etc?

    Hi I have Owen’s the car since 2019 car has a full service history. Think it’s a PowerShift

    Sorry, thinking isn't good enough as I'll contribute then find I'm rubbished by others due to lack of knowledge of the multitude of different gearboxes (can be wet or dry clutch - totally different and I don't know)
    Is it actually changing into all gears and it's just the indication that is missing?
    If it's the Powershift I know, you only get individual gear indications when in manual mode (more confusion with your original post, sorry!)
    We'll need definite info or picture of the gearbox.
