Galaxy starting problem

Featured Replies

2010, mk2 ,diesel.

Turn key, engine cranks, then immediately cuts off before it fires.

Will start with easy start, and runs perfectly! ...

Had new injectors, fuel filter, air filter

After several failed starts, leave 10 mins and it starts, sometimes, leave hours and it won't .....

Ideas please 🙏 Thanks

This sounds like a faulty crank sensor. Has the cam and crank sync been tested while cranking?

Would it not run at all, or badly if crank sensor was faulty? Thanks

Speculation at long distance is pointless, it needs testing and evidence then go from there?
Does Forscan have a crank/cam correlation or indication? ( haven't seen it but never needed to)

If the cam and crank lose sync while cranking then the starter will be cut off as a failsafe.

As above, Forscan is the best option to avoid wasting more money on parts that may not be necessary.
