mk2 08 focus diesel timing belt change/Clutch/3rd gear power

Featured Replies

Dear all hope your all well as can be in 2026

Have not changed timing belt and done 110k full annual service - mechanic said they don't inspect them when I asked if it could be checked? How worried should I be? money is very very tight and this along with centre exhaust corrosion and clutch near end but not slipping is the value of this approx beloved £1k car

There is a judder when starting car- mechanic said this is bad clutch but drives well - albeit in 3rd gear at approx 30 I notice hesitance unless I give it more gas

Thanks for input Dave 🙂 I read usually rough idling ticking noise etc so being a focus thought there might be some specific symptoms to this car
