Tapping Noise

Evening guys,

Am here on behalf of my dad who has a 2008 petrol auto 1.6 Ford Focus.

He’s recently started hearing a tapping noise coming from engine and so, called out the RAC who topped up the oil which did stop the noise temporarily.

The noise is now back and sounds clearer when you listen down by the front wheels. I’ve checked the oil level and it’s on the maximum.

He has a service booked in for next week so hoping they may be able to shed some light but does anyone here have any ideas as to what it may be?
