Accelerator has begun 'sticking'

Featured Replies

I meant a Transit 2007 and a Focus 2017 won't have the exact same pedal with exact the same physical flaw. "Part" as in "part number".

Yes.

Ok, now after driving this morning I am going back to the original clutch issue. :)

I think I was overemphasizing the acceleration when the clutch pedal is not pressed. It does 'float' for perhaps a second or two when my foot goes of the accelerator but is not revving significantly like the OP issue. Is that normal? Even if not strictly normal I think that is just how it has always been on that side of things.

For reference if, say, the revs were at number two and I released the pedal the dial would either stay where it is for one or two seconds and then drop or go up just to the next increment (not number, just notch, whatever they are called) then drop.

Conversely with the clutch thing the revs would perhaps go up a whole point. In other words a marked difference.

As those things for the clutch only cost about a tenner I am thinking might as well give it a whirl and see how it goes.
