Dreaded Mk3.5 water Leak...

Featured Replies

Hey guys, Im looking for a little addvice on a topic thats been covered so much! (yeah i searched the posts but still stuck)

I have had Water in boot for a while now and no matter what i seem to have done it still leaks,

The usual sealant around the top of the boot was done by ford main dealer, I know the vents are a common issue but the sound proofing is wet right upto the top (parcel shelf level) and no water comes out the drain plugs underneath on left or right siide...

Does anyone have any other common leak points on theese?

I am leaning towards tail lights or is the boot strut bracket a point of water ingress?

Honestly so fedup thinking its fixed then 2 weeks later i have inch of water behind drivers seat and bootwell is half full so any advice would be very much appreciated!

Short of tiger sealing everything i am about ready to get rid of the car as its just becoming an ongoing issue that even the main dealers cant seem to ***** fix!

Thanks in advance

Have you sealed and tightened the spoiler bolts?

Rear vents are still worth doing if they haven't been done.

Tbh though, if it went to Ford for diagnosis and repair of water leak, and they have not repaired it, then send it back to them again.

Actually hadn't thought about spoiler bolts so II will remove and seal that when weather iimproves

sadly its around 2 months to get car into main dealer here for anything and it always comes back with same issues so have 0 faith in them!

Hopefully the community can help as i'm happy to just work on it myself at this point

worth checking the rubber seal on the Arial, this has just happened on my daughters car. hers is not a focus but a simple feel of the roof liner to see if its wet.
