Mount n bush

Featured Replies

Hi guys getting a noise reversing my drive off my drive or noise under car occasionally going over bumpy roads

I know the big top mount had split and the oil came out and that's still split, I had a look under the car with it reversed on backwards on sloped drive and the underneath mount was moving and 4 inches when I shook the engine from the bottom.

I checked out the anti roll bar bushes and found this on anti roll bar. How many bushes need doing

Considering the age of the vehicle and the condition of these bushes it is not unlikely that you are facing a full suspension rebuild and all engine/transmission mounts require replacement.

Was thinking Ali express or eBay. But might be just cheap rubbish ones

Can engine mount, under the engine mount and roll bar bushes be done on sloped drive, or to dangerous.

Cheers

If you are asking, it must be very sloping needing to be in gear rather than relying on handbrake?
There looks, from above, that there is a LOT of work potentially needed therefore even more risk.
If in doubt, don't do it, either find a flat area use ramps jack and axle stands, wheel chocks etc or get it done in some other safe way.
That mount holds the engine so if in gear will be under load/trying to rotate likewise keeping car still when doing major suspension work - need to be safe.
We want you to be able to come back and post again and tell us the job is done!

The drivers engine mount came out easy enough and I replaced it with a febi engine mount but now the bolts on the lower part frame won't go back in and stop halfway.

Any ideas thanks guys
