Hey Folks ... Hope we are all doing well. Need some help please!

I'm trying to sell my sons car and ive been asked if it has a wet belt or chain. To be honest i have tried to search and called the main dealer who was essentially a chocolate fireguard!!

Can anyone help me understand what variant i have? I'm hoping it's a chain and it will help sell it. I also understand the oil pump belt is a wet belt.

I very much appreciate your help and any details you need on the car im happy to share.

Also anyone else had bad experiences with scammers on Gumtree and others sites .... it's been a pain!

    Hi Stuart,

    All Mk 4 Focus 1.0 Ecoboosts are chain cam drive/wet belt oil pump drive as you say. As you probably know the belt is due replacement at 10 years maximum. This is a very expensive job as canny buyers are probably aware.

    I've never yet needed to sell a car privately via websites, but can well imagine its an even bigger minefield than traditional methods!
